People are always asking where they can see my work. I know I would rather see paintings and silks "in the flesh". It is such a broader experience. My silks are always shown well at Artisans Hand Gallery in Montpelier, VT www.artisanshand.com
I have just signed up to exhibit in Stowe, VT in a Thursday afternoon event for the next 11 weeks. It's called Art on Park; white tents on Park street 5-8. It's always good for me to bring the paintings and silk out into the light and get reactions from the public. Always interesting to see what I select from the whole to take the trip with me. I've been painting some small canvas pieces, 6x6 and even smaller. Will I put these in frames? Maybe one as an example. Framing can make or break the painting and depending on the decor it can work or fight. Most of my paintings have so frame; rather the gallery stretched edges are painted to coordinate with the painting. Simple solution and solid. The painting seems expanded without the limitation of the frame, but these little guys might need to be further expanded to become solid. So many questions go into making and displaying art; does the viewer of art even have any idea of what lies beneath each display?
